For this assignment we had to find information on Robert Frost that we did not know before. That was pretty easy for me since I know very little about him. All I really knew about Frost was that he is a very popular poet with poems that many people feel are very good. Other than that I had no knowledge of Frost at all. I now know a little bit more about him but that information really does nothing for me. I am not really a big fan of poetry in general so learning more about a poet is interesting but not really helpful. Below is the link to one web page that I used to learn about Robert Frost.

Assignment Number 2
I don't deal very much with stereotyping because I am a middle class white guy. I don't generally have to worry about people looking at me funny because they think that I am going to do anything to them or because they have been raised to hate me for some reason. The only time that I get funny looks is because I am a teenager and people assume that I am going to do something stupid. I guess that that could be considered stereotyping but I doesn't really hurt me like real stereotyping does. The worst that that has ever led to was being followed by a mall rent-a-cop once even though I was not doing anything wrong.
I have however witness true stereotyping with some of my friends. I have one friend who is African-American and is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. He gets put into the wrong categorizes just because he is black. I have seen people move to get out of his way while we walk, or cross to the other side of the street just to keep from having to go by him. I even once saw someone ask to buy drugs from him just because he was black. The strange thing is that he never seems to get angry about it. He just lets it roll off of him like it is nothing. I once asked him why it never seems to bother him, and he told me that it is just one of the things that he has gotten used to. He said that most people just don't know any better and it's not really their fault.
Stereotyping really does not affect me all that much, but I have enough friends to have seen the the way that things can affect people. It is really a bad thing.

Red Ring of Death
So I got the Red Ring of Death on my X-box 360 around the beginning of December. I only sent it off to get fixed about a week before January, and I just got the update that it is fixed and on its way back to my house. This is a very pleasant surprise for me. I have gotten the Red Ring before and it took almost three months to get it back. Microsoft must really be on the ball lately to get it fixed and back to me so fast.
For those of you who don't know, the Red Ring of Death is one of the main problems that the X-box 360 experiences. They had other problems, including rumors of them bursting into flames if over used, when they first came out but Microsoft has since dealt with that and most of the other problems. The Red Ring occurs when the 360 heat up so much that the connections in the 360 actually melt from the heat. There have been many people who posted ways to fix this problem. DO NOT USE THEM. Most of them involve reheating the 360 in an attempt to put the connections back the way that they were. Some have worked but it is much more likely to really mess up the 360.
If you have an X-box 360 and experience this problem, get in touch with Microsoft and if you have a warranty they will be happy to help. If you are going to buy a 360, make sure to get the warranty. It might cost more and be completely unnecessary, but if you get the Red Ring of Death it is very worth it. Microsoft can be reached using the X-box 360 website or using a phone number provided on the website. You will need yours serial number and your X-box Live ID name so that Microsoft can confirm that you have a warranty. It might seem a little annoying but it keeps others for using your name to get their 360 fixed.
Hope that helps some people. I wish someone had helped me with this kind of thing.

Reading Other Blogs
Our class had to read at least two other blogs for an assignment given in class last Friday. The blogs could be about anything that interested us. Since I am a big basketball fan, both NCAA and NBA, I read a NCAA basketball blog and a blog written about the Wizards Point Guard Gilbert Arenas. I thought that both of the blogs were somewhat informative but shared mostly opinions of the writers and not all solid fact.
The NCAA blog covered many topics. It seemed that the writer was talking about anything that was happening in college basketball at the time. One post was about how the Wake Forest fans rushed the court after their win over UNC. He wrote of how it was bad to rush the court during the season because that meant that you didn't think your team could win the game. He also wrote that this was the second time in less than a year the the Wake Forest fan had stormed the court after a game. The blog has three men who seem to contribute the most to the blog.
The other blog that I looked at was written about the Wizards Point Guard Gilbert Arenas. While I am not a big fan of the Wizards in general, especially after the way they acted in the NBA finals last year against the Cavaliers (Who I do like), I think that Arenas is a good player. The writer of the blog, known only as Mr. X, writes several other blogs mostly about other NBA players, such as Steve Nash (Point Guard for the Suns), Dwayne Wade (Shooting Guard for the Heat), and Lebron James (Small Froward for the Cavaliers). The blog on Arenas covers what is going on with Agent Zero, as he is fondly known by his fans. This was a pretty good blog cover the current state of Arenas. I would recommend this blog to any Wizard fan.

First Blog
My first blog. Not real interesting. Just my first couple of thoughts. Not real sure who besides my teacher is going to read this but someone may read. Should be interesting to see if anyone comments on my thoughts. I will write about all sorts of things depending on my mood. It could be anything from music to movies to just random thoughts that pop into my mind.
My next blog will be an assinment from my teacher. It was supposed to be the first but I thought a slight introduction was in order.
